Public bug reported: If during an update a package asks the user for input via the console (eg an application just asked me if I wanted to choose or restart all services after updating), update-manager by default just sits there saying it's updating. So it just looks like it is taking an unbelievably long time to complete the update. You have to click on Details to get the drop-down console before you can see that input is required.
It would be nice if update-manager could detect this and automatically open the drop-down for details, or if it could force apt-get to use GUI- based input when running from update-manager.
