I'm on 10.04 and as many other in the comments a Lenovo T61. I noticed this bug today as it was interfering with sound playback in VLC and MPlayer.
I'm seeing what many describe here: cpu spikes about every 3 seconds. Running 'top' shows me a process called 'events/0' is the one doing this. I'm not really sure how long this bug has affected me though I haven't noticed it before. sudo ifconfig eth0 down And the CPU spikes stopped, sound playback ok again. I mostly use this machine via the wireless so that is an ok fix for me. I tried starting up with an older kernel "2.6.32.26" but the problem didn't get solved by that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/537396 Title: events/0 spikes CPU every 3 seconds since upgrade to 2.6.31-20 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/537396/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
