Hi everyone. Just another report of which configurations are working and which don't. But with these results, it seems for me to be an nvidia-driver issue, as the last two setups mainly differ in the OpenGL-driver (except in the cpu-architecture).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Configuration #1: Focus-Animation-Effect "Dodge" IS WORKING GREAT for me with the following setup: OS-Version: Ubuntu 12.10 Kernel-Version: Linux 3.5.0-22-generic (i686) (Virtual)Machine: VirtualBox 4.2.6 r82870 Desktop-Environment: Mate 1.4.2 Display-Server: X.Org Version 1.13.0 OpenGL-Driver: VMware Inc. Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe 2.1 Mesa 9.0 with direct rendering Compiz-Version: 0.9.8.6 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Configuration #2: Focus-Animation-Effect "Dodge" IS ALSO WORKING GREAT for me with the following setup: OS-Version: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS Kernel-Version: 3.2.0-36-generic (i686) (Virtual)Machine: VirtualBox 4.2.6 r82870 Desktop-Environment: Mate 1.4.2 Display-Server: X.Org Version 1.11.3 OpenGL-Driver: Humper 2.1 Chromium 1.9 with direct rendering Compiz-Version: 0.9.7.12 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Configuration #3: Focus-Animation-Effect "Dodge" DOESN'T WORK for me (producing white windows) with the following setup: OS-Version: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS Kernel-Version: 3.2.0-36-generic (x86_64) Machine: ASUS-Rampage III with Intel Core i7-930 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 Desktop-Environment: Mate 1.4.2 Display-Server: X.Org Version 1.11.3 OpenGL-Driver: NVIDIA 304.64 with direct rendering Compiz-Version: 0.9.7.12 All other Compositing-Effects I've activated, and there are a lot of them ;-), are working great with both configurations, except the "Focus Animations". --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've noticed, that the OpenGL-Driver in configuration #2 is running much fluently than that one of configuration #1 but both are working at least, in opposite of the nvidia-driver in configuration #3. I wasn't looking for further, but are there any recent setups with the nvidia-driver which are working with the focus-animation-effects out there? Any further ideas? This bug is really nagging me, although dodging windows are a gadget, but it's a nice one ;-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/729979 Title: [nvidia] Windows appear blank white To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/729979/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
