Bertilo, unfortunately i have found that i get the freezes on other distros i have tried as well, fedora seemed to be really bad with them but i am currently back on ringtail and the latest nvidia drivers and have not had a freeze in 2 or 3 weeks so i will continue to use and if i don't get a freeze for a month then i will considered the issue solved.
