Can you try the following:
1) Reduce the volume a little. Maybe your gain is so high so that noise
is all you hear.
If this does not help, try
2) install the program "pavucontrol", go to the "input devices" tab and unlock
the left and right channels. Mute the left channel and do a recording only
through the right channel. The unmute the right channel and mute the left and
do a new recording. Is any of this helping against the noise?
3) If none of the above helps, please make a recording, save it in an
uncompressed format, (i e wav, NOT ogg) and attach here. Thanks.
