Hello,
After an electric power failure when I restarted computer, I started to receive
this error: "BUG: soft lockup detected on CPU#0!" and the system was also
showing less RAM than I have. I tried by changing several options (DMA and
BIOS) but nothing happened. Then I removed the computer cover and reset the
cmos (remove the cmos battery and short jumper) I also took out the RAM sticks
from the slots and put them to the slots again. Did edit the BIOS (hdd
detection, time setting etc.). Now, when I started the computer, it is ok by
the grace of God. No more this error message: "BUG: soft lockup detected on
CPU#0" and the RAM was also showing completely. You may try this and best of
luck. Thank you.
