There does not seem to be a unique file, command or process that holds the high number of file descriptors.
It seems to be regular files like standard libraries, so maybe the cause is that Chrome just causes a large amount of processes to run. The largest consumers are: 45 processes command chrome releases 10,923 file descriptors 48 processes command Chrome_Ch releases 5,628 file descriptors 47 processes command VC releases 5,507 file descriptors - and then another 15k descriptors are released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1099562 Title: chromium-browser causes thousands of file descriptors to be consumed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1099562/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
