I was finally able to print to QL 650 TD. Here is how I did it : Went here:
http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public/us/us/en/dlf/download_top.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=lpql650eus Then clicked on "For Linux Users: Click here to get the Linux driver." Then it took me here: http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public_s/id/linux/en/index.html Then clicked on "P-touch, QL/PJ-Printer Driver" which took me here: http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public_s/id/linux/en/download_esp.html #QL-650TD Then downloaded : LPR driver and cupswrapper driver (mm) Then see install instructions "Install Instruction : lpr driver | cupswrapper driver" links basically I did: dpkg -i --force-all ql650tdlpr-1.0.0-1.i386.deb and dpkg -i --force-all ql650tdcupswrapper-1.0.0-1.debian.i386.deb Also, I removed Ubuntu native P-Touch driver: dpkg -r ptouch-driver Then when adding the printer I selected for ubuntu to allow me to select from the database. Ubuntu loaded a list of drivers, and I was able to find the driver as : Brother QL-650TD CUPS v1.1 The I was able to print to it even from Gedit. Now I'm having an issue related blank printing, but I already found out that it has to do with setting the correct dimensions for the paper / midia. Because if it would send a complete A4 page to the printer and the top left would be empty, it would probably just print the top left of the all A4 cropped to the 62 mm x 90 mm that the printer knows it has as midia. I hope it was not too confusing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/901353 Title: Brother QL-650TD only prints garbage To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ptouch-driver/+bug/901353/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
