The logs were from a successful boot. The previous version I had installed was 3.5.0-20-generic. I'll try to convince grub to give me a boot menu tomorrow and then alternate versions to see if I can absolutely confirm the kernel version as the cause. I'll also run apport-collect to attach the logs from a failed bootup to this bug.
