I have the exact same problem, but in this case its the DVD Drive. There is only one fstab entry, but it shows up as a mounted removable drive even when the DVD tray is empty.
When a CD/DVD is inserted, the mounted drive icon appears on the desktop, pointing to the same location (as it normally should).
