Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kde-guidance
I installed Kubuntu i386 Gutsy Tribe 2 on a Sony Vaio PCG-XG19. I did the install in safe graphics mode, and so when I was done the system had vesa as the driver in xorg.conf (is that supposed to happen?) At any rate, once the system was installed, I I tried to change the hardware type using System Settings - Monitor and Display - Hardware tab. While it correctly detected my chipset and claimed it would apply the changes, I saw no change in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. I tried several times to change the hardware using this, but it never did anything that I could detect. ** Affects: kde-guidance (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- System Settings - Monitor & Display won't set hardware type https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124976 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
