Public bug reported: Xaw-based X apps don't work well with the launcher in Unity.
Tested on raring, quantal, and precise; same results in each case. Steps to reproduce: ------------------- - Launch affected app (xcalc, xeyes, xclock, x3270, xsysinfo, etc) from dash or terminal. - The icon will appear in the launcher and respond as expected. - Right-click on launcher icon and choose "Lock to Launcher". - The icon will now jump to the top of your launcher, becoming the first app icon under the Ubuntu button. - Close app. - Click launcher icon to relaunch app. It will glow like it's going to launch, but never does. - Launch app again from dash or terminal. - A second (identical) icon will appear in launcher. ** Affects: bamf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1089034 Title: bamfdaemon doesn't handle Xaw-based apps correctly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bamf/+bug/1089034/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
