compiz in 7.04 shipped with a patch to change the default wobbliness
settings, 083_change_wobbliness_settings.patch.
This patch was dropped here:

but in compiz 1:0.5.1+git20070703-0ubuntu2 it seems as if this patch
*is* still needed: the settings are not the same upstream as they were
in the patch.
The patch doesn't apply anymore, because the location of the settings in
the source tree was moved, but that doesn't mean that it is no longer
relevant.
