I have set this in my .bashrc. Seems that the default sudo policy preserves the invoking user's $HOME variable.
That being said, I am no longer able to reproduce the problem, even if GREP_OPTIONS is set in the shell that install from. Not sure what changed, but I'll close this as its no longer a problem. ** Changed in: emacs-goodies-el (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1080968 Title: package emacs-goodies-el 35.2ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/emacs-goodies-el/+bug/1080968/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
