I just run the same test on my one 4GB kingston DataTrveler, and doesn't reproduce the bug on upstream kernel, so looks it is the usb disk specific problem.
As far as I can tell, it is better to provide usbmon trace for troubleshooting the problem, otherwise it is difficult to find a way to figure out the problem. See below link to see how to use usbmon to get the trace(you need to trace during the large file transfer test) http://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Documentation/usb/usbmon.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1084275 Title: 0930:6545 Large file transfer to Kingston DataTraveller 108 16GB USB hangs for a long time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1084275/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
