I've attached the .crash file left in /var/crash/ when I just tried `sudo 
synaptic`. 
I downloaded the syaptic-dbgsym package and apport-retrace to incorporate them 
in the .crash file 
the resulting file, gzipped , is attached

If you want me to install more debug symbols that's fine. If you happen
to know the appropriate package names for them, that'd be handy (:
