Benjamin, why not? Especially in such a case with 0 regression risk. When Ubuntu started it was appreciated by many for polishing up Debian. These days it seems that once a release is out the door, it's forgotten. I think it would suit Ubuntu well to getting back to trying and bring out the best polished product it can or risk being regarded as sloppy (warranted or not).
