When the file chooser is opened, subdirectories are automatically
selected without actually choosing them. For example, if I have a
subdirectory called "Games" in my "Downloads" directory, the file
chooser will highlight it automatically, and "Games" will show up in the
location bar. This can be frustrating when choosing a location for
downloads or file saves. Transmission, the BitTorrent application, will
choose the "Games" subdirectory automatically, even though by default it
should download to "Downloads". Even extracting archives with Archive
Manager will result in archives being extracted to the first available
subdirectory without ever being told to do so.
