CHEWS  I am not sure on that one... I will check into that one next...

I have successfully built and installed working fixed versions, so I know the 
upstream will not have the bug, IF they accept my proposed merge.
the whole problem was in the lmms-common.install file.  it  was simply missing 
the line /usr/share/applications/
so, the desktop file was not getting installed.

I have found out more about fixing lmms in precise/quantal.... it seems
that a backport from raring will likely be the easiest way to 'fix' the
bug.  So, hopefully they will accept the package into raring, and
backport it to precise and quantal.  if that doesn't happen, I will try
to get them to upload this fix.
