Same problem here on the same Dell hardware
boot.log shows
udevd[402]: '/sbin/modprobe -bv 
pci:v00008086d0000277Csv00001028sd000001DEbc06sc00i00' [411] terminated by 
signal 11 (Segmentation fault)
I can see the call trace in dmesg similar to the one posted by Raymond

This results in syslog being flooded with messages (every second)

If I boot from the 3.2.0 kernel I kept from 12.04, everything works fine
