I also have a Crucial M4 SSD and was experiencing a very similar
problem.  Boot was fast, but resume from suspend was extremely slow and
unstable, with the COMRESET failed (errno=-16) appearing every time.
Many times it would just crash upon resume.

My previous fix was to go into the BIOS and change the SATA mode from
AHCI to Compatibility.

Upon upgrading to firmware 010G, I have not had any issues so far in
AHCI mode.
