Try to use kernel boot parameter i915.invert_brightness=1. If it works have a look at what modinfo has to say to about this i915 paramter: "invert_brightness: Invert backlight brightness (-1 force normal, 0 machine defaults, 1 force inversion), please report PCI device ID, subsystem vendor and subsystem device ID to dri- de...@lists.freedesktop.org, if your machine needs it. It will then be included in an upcoming module version."
I'm affected by a similar bug on the HP Folio 13-2000 and reported it upstream, see https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51141 – maybe the provided patch works for your notebook model too. If it doesn't, you could send an e- mail to dri-de...@lists.freedesktop.org as statet above. Hope this helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1066211 Title: Screen backlight problem on HP Folio 13-1050la To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1066211/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
