Private bug reported:

The process will run for a while and make thumbs, then it will will
randomly hang and all thumbnail activity will stop. The proccess never
unfreezes. Executing nautilus -q will reset everything and it will begin
working for a few minutes before hanging again. Seems to only happen on
remote shares. Was never a problem on 12.04. Booting 12.04 will generate
thumbnails for the same video files.
