Public bug reported: This problem started right after I tried to upgrade the git installation using apt-get as given in the git website. This also prevents reinstallation of gitosis, which is troublesome since it gives rise to a cyclical error. For example when I issue sudo apt-get install python-setuptools it gives an error: "The user 'gitosis' does not exist, but --system was given. Exiting. "
