I have similar problem with the same sound card. For me sound works with all programs, but sometimes randomly hangs and plays only the few milliseconds of the last sound. Most frequently it happens with flash websites (e.g. youtube.com), but sometimes it can happen with other programs too. As i can remember this problem first appeared with dapper. Sometimes it occured quite often, sometimes quite rarely. Now watching youtube.com for a longer time usually ends with sound beeing broken.
