Hi everybody, Apparently the problem is solved for me. Installing the proprietary driver for my nvidia card seems to be the key, although, as I said before (#523), something is definitively going on with the audio driver as well. I recall my config:
Processor: i3 Board: Asus P7P55D Graphics: Nvidia GT940 Ram: 6GB Sound: external card Audio Kontrol I hope it helps someone. -G On Wed, 14 Nov 2012 09:53:02 -0000 Martin Wildam <993...@bugs.launchpad.net> wrote: > Hi, > > On Wed, Nov 14, 2012 at 8:56 AM, backstreetrover wrote: >> I suspect that any hardware that this bug affects will show >>the freeze >> on live cd itself without needing to actually install >>ubuntu. >> >> Why has this not been fixed by canonical yet >> !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > > You can see it in the status of this bug: Because there seem >to be > really different reasons for the freeze and hence different >other bugs > and some might have been fixed already - as is mine - no >more freezes > and reliability of my whole system increases again. > > Regards, Martin. > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are >subscribed to the bug > report. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 > > Title: > ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently. > > Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: > Won't Fix > Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu: > Won't Fix > Status in “linux” source package in Precise: > Won't Fix > Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” source package in >Precise: > Won't Fix > > Bug description: > Update: 6/12/2012 > This bug is about a complete system lock-up.
