Public bug reported:

When I connect my Camera (Lumix LX5) on the USB port, it isn't automounted any
more. The last time I can confirm the device was automounted successfully is on
October 10, 2012.
1) I am using Linux 10.04 LTS - Lucid Lynx, with the following kernel version
(uname -a):
Linux aleminambur 2.6.32-44-generic-pae #98-Ubuntu SMP Mon Sep 24 17:47:51 UTC
2012 i686 GNU/Linux
2) I don't know what packages would be involved in the processing
3) I connect the camera to a USB port, when subsequently switching on the
camera I would expect a window to pop up that displays the directories on the
camera (containing pictures and movies)
4) Nothing happens instead, only some error messages are logged in in
/var/log/messages that appear at the moment I switch the camera on. However I
noticed similar error messages when the camera was successfully automounted for
the last time, so I don't know if they are related to the problem.

To exclude hardware problems I checked the following:
-> USB stick is successfully automounted on the same USB port
-> USB hard drive is successfully automounted on the same USB port
-> I can access the pictures on the camera when I connect it on the same USB
port and start Windows on my dual boot installation

Attached you find excerpts from /var/log/messages once from October 10,
when automounting still worked and once from November 12 when the device
was not automounted.
