Public bug reported: The Ubuntu specific guides for NFS settup
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NFSv4Howto ,as the older one, and https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SettingUpNFSHowTo point the user to the nfs-common option NEED_IDMAPD , which is not incorporated by default in /etc/default/nfs-common -------------------------------- Additional: This is a little bit obfuscating. -------------------------------- Expected: It would be clearer to provide this option also in the config file, when the guides point to it. Also a short comment about the function and usage would be helpfull. [Or on the other hand to change the guides, but the option by itself looks usefull.] ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: nfs-common 1:1.2.6-3ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.7.0-0.5-generic 3.7.0-rc4 Uname: Linux 3.7.0-0-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.6.2-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Nov 11 18:00:24 2012 InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-11-10 (1 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Alpha amd64 (20121110) MarkForUpload: True SourcePackage: nfs-utils UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: nfs-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug raring -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1077673 Title: /etc/default/nfs-common has no default entry for NEED_IDMAPD To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nfs-utils/+bug/1077673/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
