** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: update-manager

During the upgrade from intrepid to jaunty, sivp has failed to upgrade
(remain in 0.4.3.-4 and in trouble). Since, I can't success to upgrade
it or remove it, can't success also to remove scilab. Now, the proper
upgrade sivp 0.5.0-1 seems to be available, but clicking on the updating
button causes that immediate crash. So my problem : Because this package
can not be upgraded, all videos are in a big mess (gstreamer,
flashplugin... are in troubles...). Now the upgrade is available in the
repositories. But anyhow I can not success to make that upgrade.

How to escape from this uncomfortable situation, and recover ? Could you
please help me in this ?
