This problem affect me since a few days. The Appfinder suddenly needed like 5-10 seconds to launch. It worked fine the days before. (I set up my Xubuntu completly new 2 weeks ago). Workaround works fine :)
Maybe this has something to do with the option "Keep running instance in the background" in the settings-window of the appfinder?
