This is a not-bug. It's not intended so much as a natural result of the
combination of the architecture and the mechanism used to log in
graphically ([gxk]dm). I think you rely on a bash / sh configuration but
is not using bash / sh. Please set environment values (e.g. PATH) in
your .xsession / .gdmrc.
