I would like to remove this bug. It turns out that Evince has its own Color <--> Gray scale choice which doesn't look at the values defined in the Printer Options. Probably when I updated from 12.04 to 12.10 the Evince values got reset. The reason it is still working correctly on the other computer with 12.04 is because its Evince isn't updated and it is still using the Gray scale which I set way back when.
