This is an off-topic rant, but I think gnome-app-install _needs_ some
added complexity - I don't use it because it abstracts away the notion
of packages, and doesn't provide access to any underlying package
related information, like the package name (how is the user supposed
to know that there are docs in /usr/share/doc/<package> without this
vital info?). It is true that there are many users who are ignorant
of the fact that there are docs there, or of the different licenses
packages can come with, but if the tools that are designed for those
users make that information easily available (striking a balance
between simplicity and functionality), those users will become aware
of it much more quickly. I can file a couple of specific suggestions
as bugs against gnome-app-install, if you want.
