Steps to reproduce:

Thunderbird automatic folder compacting option (Preferences > Advanced >
Network & Disk Space > Compact all...) doesn't seem to be working.

With this option enabled, my ~/.thunderbird folder was taking ~30GB and
I had to manually click "Compact" on each folder to get it down to 3GB
(!).

Actual results:

Mailbox grows endlessly and is not compatected, even though automatic
folder compacting is enabled.

Expected results:

Mailbox is automatically compacted with no need to manually click
'Compact' on each folder.
