I haven't rebooted lately, and yes, I usually install all updates unless I'm sure they are going to break my config (example: feisty's network- manager packages on my desktop). I only reboot when I install a new kernel. I did a little more searching around, and it seems that this is a bug introduced to Acer laptops (and others which use the "Smart Battery System" on the 2.6.20-16 kernel. I haven't booted -15 yet, so when it's time for me to reboot (right now I'm on the AC Adapter again), I'll let you know. I'm starting to get a little worried about kernel upgrades. I noticed at some point my hard disk had gone back to /dev/hda. The latest upgrade made it go back to /dev/sda again, but now I noticed battery is gone. I'll give -15 a run, hopefully it won't bare any surprises.
