Public bug reported: I observe the problem with gnome movie player, rhythmbox, VLC player, firefox and google chrome. It happens on mp3s, mpegs, and flash.
If I run Ubuntu 10.04 in a guest virtual machine, then I do not hear the problem, but synchronization between the video and the audio is poor (which I assume is due to the virtualization) Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS The sounds skips, or repeats itself, or sometimes goes very very fast. When the sound goes very fast, then the video also goes very fast, if I am watching a movie or streaming something.
