The sample directory exists but it was a subdirectory. ie. https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/serverguide/sample/sources.list instead of https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/sample/sources.list
I just copied the sample directory to where it was pointing. I think this has been fixed for 12.10 by the serverguide not pointing to files in the sample directory. ** Changed in: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1032981 Title: "sources.list" sample in precise pangolin documentation/wiki points to a non-existing resource To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-docs/+bug/1032981/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
