Public bug reported:

Given that Python 3 is the default for Ubuntu 12.10 (and onwards) I'd
like to request the Python 3 version of Emphem be added to the Ubuntu
repository.

My use case is simple: I would like to release a Python 3 version of my
indicators, https://launchpad.net/~thebernmeister/+archive/ppa, for
Ubuntu 12.10 and the only thing holding me back is a Python 3 version of
the Ephem astronomy package.

Currently I use a Python 2 version of Ephem
(https://launchpad.net/~nilarimogard/+archive/webupd8). I have asked
the PPA owner if they would be interested in building a Python 3
version, but as they have no use for it, understandably they will only
build/maintain the Python 2 version.

The Python 3 source of Ephem can be found at
http://pypi.python.org/pypi/ephem and is licensed under LGPL.

Thanks,

Bernard.
