I am very sorry, i use gutsy too, and with the same version of ktorrent, i couldn't reproduce the bug. Do you get any error when you hit the cancel button, if you run ktorrent from a terminal? Or maybe try to obtain a backtrace following the instructions at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and attach the file to the bug report.
