Thanks for confirming this bug. It keeps happening for me too, no matter what. Changing the boot device doesn't help. hald-addon-storage is apparently necessary, as it restarts by itself even after you kill it, which can cause your computer to lock up again, if you insert another disk into the drive. It doesn't do it every single time, but it does happen often enough to drive me insane.
