> Why does Grub only show blank screen of certain color when it has only
one kernel installed?

> Why could it just show something?

This is entirely by design and will not be changed. The bootloader does
not need to interact with the user on boot in the common case, and to do
so would detract from the user experience.

** Package changed: grub (Ubuntu) => grub2 (Ubuntu)

** Changed in: grub2 (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Won't Fix
