I can confirm that ibm_acpi is not loaded on boot on an X60s with
2.6.22-7-generic. However, I cannot reproduce the error message in the
description

** Summary changed:

- no battery status on IBM Thinkpad x60s with 2.6.22-6
+ no battery status on IBM Thinkpad x60s with 2.6.22-7 / ibm-acpi not loaded

** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.22-6-generic
+ Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.22-7-generic

First of all, the module ibm_acpi is not loaded on startup. When loaded
manually /proc/acpi/ibm is created but dmesg gives the following error:

  acpi_bus_get_device(bay) failed 19 battery

Most devices get listed in /proc/acpi/ibm video, volume, thermal, etc
  except the battery.

** Tags added: ibm thinkpad x60
