Public bug reported:

OS: Ubuntu 12.04 amd64
Software: octave 3.6.1 from ppa:picaso/octave

I'm trying to install octave-video 1.0.2 from OctaveForge:
octave:1> pkg install video-1.0.2.tar.gz

Produces the attached error log... particularly
‘CODEC_TYPE_VIDEO’ was not declared in this scope
and various
‘AVFormatContext’ has no member named ...
lines.

I've previously installed libavcodec-dev libavformat-dev libavfilter-dev
libavdevice-dev libavutil-dev libavc1394-dev (plus build-dep octave as a shot
in the dark).

This seemingly has something to do with octave-video using an old ffmpeg API,
but which/when/how and what to download/install?
Ideally we'd have an octave-video package which works nicely with the current
ffmpeg.

** Affects: octave (Ubuntu)
