Public bug reported: There is a nasty performance issue with TB 15 which is fixed in 15.0.1 according to reports in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=787348.
I have confirmed this by installing 15.0.1 from https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/thunderbird-stable.
