Hi, I had a similar problem with a samsung 305u1a. Relevant lscpi line is: 03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller (rev 01)
With kubuntu 12.04.1, I found that NetworkManagement would often try to connect to the wifi network (tethering to a smartphone), but hanging on "Confinguring Interface" indefiinitely. But sometimes it worked very well, then suddenly stop (but without disconnecting). I finally noticed a pattern, and realised that the smartphone must be in a horizontal position. I suppose it must be something to do with either a bad antenna in the broadcom chip, or just that the antennae must be physically parallel or perpendicular. I haven't tested this solution with other OSs. tl;dr rotate your router's wifi antenna to different positions. Maybe that'll work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/991686 Title: WiFi not working on Samsung NP305U1A laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/991686/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
