I am going to change one variable at a time to see what happens:

The first is that I have downloaded  v3.6-rc5 of the kernel and I have
updated it's .config to turn on USB debugging and compiled and installed
it to hopefully see more details. This will hopefully also enable me to
determine the line of code that is causing the kernel oops.

I will wait to see what happens.
