I am having the exact same problem. I have a brand new Toshiba L840 with an Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter. I am running Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit and I have tried upgrading to the Q-Series ppa 3.5.0-14 Linux Kernel and the problem still persists. Is there any fix for this? I am considering buying a different wireless card as the solution if there is now way to fix this currently...
