Public bug reported: I have been getting used to ubuntu on my macbook for the past couple of weeks (just ubuntu on hard-drive, no dual boot). I have been getting a situation where during normal use of different application, can be nautilus, sublime text 2, chrome, etc and the computer stops for a second then there is a black screen before I get send back to the login screen.
The log reported in syslog at the time of the crash is: Sep 10 12:19:52 benkaiser-MacBook gnome-session[1654]: Gdk-WARNING: gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.#012 I thought that the proprietary nVidia drivers from their website may have been causing the problem so I switched back to the version-current- updates one in the additional drivers.
