I will attempt to test the latest mainline kernel. Interestingly, the
laptop can't complete the boot process unless it's plugged in, which is
new in Quantal. That seems like a separate issue, unless it's related to
the embedded controller (which I admit I know very little about), which
looks like it's implicated by the suspend debug trace.
