Boot options:
cat /proc/cmdline
BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-30-generic

Lid Switch is recognized in kern.log :

[ 0.442571] input: Lid Switch as
/devices/LNXSYSTM:00/device:00/PNP0C0D:00/input/input1
[    0.442617] ACPI: Lid Switch [C238]

After manual suspend (as suggested in other reports, e.g.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/958520)
acpi_listen
does not not detect anything when closing/opening lid

Check @ boot from the recovery meny, as suggested in
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1746052 entry #8, does not
detect anything when closing/opening lid

@ Joseph Salisbury: I will test the latest upstream kernel a.s.a.p.
